Town Hall Organ Concert - Four Hands & Four Feet

Robert Ampt is Sydney City Organist and Amy Johansen is Sydney University Organist. This husband and wife duo will perform together on the Auckland Town Hall Organ - four hands and feet at the same time giving the organ one of its heaviest work-outs yet!

Their duet playing has included performances at the Town Halls of Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney within Australia, Dunedin in New Zealand, as well as on the great organs at Methuen, Portland (Maine) and San Diego's Balboa Park, in the USA. In 2004 they performed as the finale to the concerts celebrating the 25th birthday of the Ronald Sharp organ in the Sydney Opera House and in 2006 performed an organ duet concert at the Newcastle Conservatorium which was broadcast live on ABC national radio. Their 2011 performances include appearances at the Sydney Town Hall and St George’s Cathedral, Perth.

They will perform organ works by Saint-Saëns, Merkel, Hakim and Beethoven.

This will prove to be a very entertaining and enjoyable concert.
