Presented by Basement Fest 2011 and The Rebel Alliance.
London is my canvas and I will paint in blood.
London, 1888. A young gentleman falls in love with the wrong girl and unwittingly unleashes Jack the Ripper upon the prostitutes of Whitechapel. As news spreads of the brutal murders, an artist, Walter Sickert, finds himself at a crossroads. He can stop the Ripper’s reign of terror but to do so he must pay an unimaginable price.
Don’t miss the chance to see award-winning playwright Albert Belz’s gothic tale of love, lust and betrayal as part of the inaugural Basement Fest.
With: David Aston, Dena Kennedy, Todd Emerson, Sophie Henderson, Sam Snedden & Andi Crown.
Design by: Jessica Verryt, Bonnie Burrill, Estelle Macdonald & Sean Lynch.
Directed by: Anders Falstie-Jensen.
‘A company to watch’ – NZ Herald.
'Belz wields his pen with surgical precision and skill' - Capital Times.
