Art writer and gallery director Sarah Hopkinson discusses the art works on display by New Zealand artists Kate Newby and Fiona Connor.
Sarah Hopkinson has worked as a freelance writer and curator, and was a founding director of Gambia Castle from 2007 to its close in 2010. Sarah is a regular contributor to art magazines and has worked as both writer and editor on various artist books and publishing projects, as well as teaching art theory at both the University of Auckland and AUT.
In November 2010 Sarah opened Hopkinson Cundy, a new contemporary art gallery in a historic building on Auckland's Cross Street. The gallery represents a stable of New Zealand and Australia's most prominent young artists.
