SABA Diamond Jubilee

You are invited to join the South Auckland Ballet Academy to celebrate Valerie Murray, who began her ballet classes in Mangere East Hall 60 years ago. It will also be a time to mark the end of an era, as Valerie retires from the school at the end of 2011.

Dawn breaks on the local stallholders, preparing themselves and their wares for the excitement of the day ahead at the local fair. People hustle and bustle about the stalls and amusement rides in a flurry of joy and excitement before the Night Shadows creep in signaling the day is coming to an end.

This ballet was especially created for Valerie Murray's Diamond Jubilee and retirement farewell. The music has been chosen from a variety of Mrs Murray's favourite composers and is created for her as a celebration and thank you for her dedication to the art of ballet and all those she has taught over the decades.
