This exhibition honours Ralph Hotere, one of New Zealand’s greatest living artists who turned 80 this year. Small Holes In The Silence spans nearly four decades of Hotere’s career. The title is adapted from the poem Rain by Hone Tuwhare, who is one of the many collaborators of this iconic artist.

Works for the exhibition are sourced from the collection of Te Manawa and Massey University and supplemented by private loans.

Exhibition developed in collaboration with Massey University.
