We are proud to announce a stellar lineup of unique Chch acts, featuring..
Permanence (Joy Division):
Permanence have been together for over 3 years now and have played pretty much every live venue in Christchurch. They continue to learn more Joy Division songs and have built up a setlist of almost 30 Joy Division classics.
Line-up is Wade Byers (electronic drums), Danny Webster (guitar/vocals/keyboards) and Linda Baran (bass guitar).
Mmdelai (dark electronica):
Mmdelai's music has dark and ethereal elements, likened to Portishead and described by Groove Guide as "Aphex Twin meets PJ Harvey". Runner-up in RoundUp 2010, they have since been quietly writing a soon to be released EP.
The band is currently a three piece line up of Jess Hix, Danny Webster (Permanence/Primary, Radar Angel) and Annemarie Duff (Miniatures).
Primary (The Cure):
Formed about 18 months ago, Primary have built up a diverse set of songs written by The Cure. Primary focus on the songs from The Cure's most prolific and creative period between 1979 to 1992.
Line-up is Wade Byers (electronic drums), Danny Webster (guitar/vocals), Linda Baran (bass guitar), Jeremy Severinsen (guitar) & Cathy Ashford (keyboards).
Villain (post-punk/dark wave):
Villain are a 4-piece from Christchurch consisting of Shaun McTague (vocals, guitar), Cameron Hoy (guitar), Edward Kwon (bass) and Richard Kwon (drums). The four have been playing together for 3 years now.
"The band has released an impressive collection of EPs, including the pencil-sketch rough reverb of 'Cranford Demos', the spacious adventuring on 'Away' and the latest offering 'Unheard', which sees them spinning in to more atmospheric territory.
