Rugby World Cup fever is gripping the country with only four games left in the tournament.
This weekend it’s the semi-finals with Wales, France, New Zealand and Australia going head-to-head at Eden Park.
These two matches promise to be huge and the Outrageously West Fanzone will be a hub of rugby fervour with live screenings of both games on massive screens.
Tuck into the food and refreshments on offer, let the kids loose in the activity area and enjoy the live music and rugby.
Here’s what you need to know.
Saturday 15 October: 5pm-12am
• 6pm Union (covers band) perform live
• 9pm Semi-final match between France and Wales live on the big screen
Sunday 16 October: 5pm-12am
• 6pm Hands Off (covers band) perform live
• 9pm Semi-final match between New Zealand and Australia live on the big screen
Tips for enjoying the Fanzone
• Entry to the Fanzone is free, but capacity is limited.
• Drink responsibly and please don't drink and drive.
• There's a bar for over 18s (ID will be required - your passport, NZ Drivers Licence or HANZ 18+ card). Don't bring alcohol, open vessels or illegal substances - these will be confiscated at entry.
• Eftpos is available on site, but best to bring some cash for purchases from the food stalls.
• Please note that you can't bring food into the venue, except for a small amount of non-commercial food for personal consumption, such as sandwiches or fruit.
Getting there
Roads and regular public transport in the area near the Fanzone will be very busy, so allow plenty of time for travelling.
Driving
Driving is the best option for getting there. Parking is not available at the stadium, but you can park in nearby streets, or in streets near the shuttle bus route so you can Park and Ride. Expect road closures for 30 minutes after the match finishes. There is a taxi pick-up point on Universal Drive. Consider carpooling to help reduce congestion. You can find a carpool match for any of the Fanzone events by visiting the Rideshare website.
Public transport
A Park and Ride shuttle bus will run between The Trusts Stadium and Henderson train and bus interchange during the hours the Fanzone is open. Cash fare, $2 each way. The shuttle route to the stadium is: Henderson interchange on Railside Avenue, Great North Road, Lincoln Road, Te Pai Place temporary stop - a short walk to the stadium. The shuttle route from the stadium is: Te Pai Place temporary stop, Central Park Drive, Edmonton Road, Edsel Street, Henderson interchange on Railside Avenue.
No additional public transport services operate to the Fanzone. Please check the Maxx journey planner for regular timetabled services in the area.
