Enjoy a late night at City Gallery that focuses on the artwork of Tony Fomison. Ron Brownson, Senior Curator of New Zealand and Pacific Art at Auckland Art Gallery will discuss Fomison’s artwork in the gallery, which has been described by the artist as "illustrations of dreams which should present a loaded message". Brownson helped assemble the most extensive public collection of the artist's works and he recently acquired Fomison's studio papers for Auckland Art Gallery. His presentation will include statements written by the artist.
Visitors can also view the exhibition Oceania: Imagining the Pacific and the documentary film Profiles: Tony Fomison (25 mins). Nikau will provide a cash bar.
Profiles: Tony Fomison will screen from 5:30pm and Ron Brownson will speak at 6pm.
Tickets are $5. City Gallery Friends can bring a friend for no extra charge.
