For one night only MOTAT will be transforming its historic Victorian surroundings into a spooky and haunted affair. Jack the Ripper, Sherlock Holmes and characters from the Victorian past will be resurrected to scare and frighten visitors in a night of thrills and spills for all the family.
There is plenty to keep you entertained, such as characters in Victorian costume with a haunted twist, a ghost tram conductor, a Jack O Lantern competition, Araroa Cafe selling Halloween themed food, a Victorian style photo studio and even a carriage ride with Jack the Ripper if you are brave enough.
MOTAT Museum Director, Jeremy Hubbard, says that MOTAT can become a spooky place at night and provides the perfect back drop for a Halloween event.
“While bright and fun at day time, MOTAT can transform into an eerie place at night. We are planning to bring our museum collection and Victorian styled buildings to life with characters, activities and surprises. This will not be a night for the faint-hearted,” warns Mr Hubbard.
Through its event MOTAT will also be providing its community with a safe approach to a holiday that can often be unsettling for parents and neighborhoods due to door knocking.
“We wanted to create a fun atmosphere for all ages where MOTAT’s many friends could enjoy Halloween in a safe environment,” says Mr Hubbard.
So get your tickets quick. Don’t miss the magic at MOTAT when it celebrates ‘Olde Hallow’s Eve.’
