Boutique Opera invites you to take a break, get together a party and come en masse to our forthcoming production of ‘Tom Jones’.
The famous Henry Fielding novel has been adapted for the stage and screen before, and this new version created by Alison Hodge (Director) and Michael Vinten (Musical Director) will delight and entertain you.
It is a classic tale of love and lechery, virtue and villainy, honour and obstinacy.
We promise an entertainment full of wit and wisdom displaying both the bawdy and the moral. Our hero Tom - not to be confused with a certain Welsh singer - reveals skill with his sword as he wends his way towards his just desserts; our heroine Sophia defies the authority of her father Squire Weston to be with the man she desires.
Be amazed at the obstacles they must overcome, gasp at the deceit that surrounds them, and sigh at their passion. This is a show full of fun and frolic, melody and mayhem - a grand spectacle not to be missed.
