Tangiaro Kiwi Retreat is getting popular with its paua cuisine. Using only fresh paua from the land-based paua farm just around the corner at Carey Road, the dishes are highlights for many visitors. For the third time Tangiaro will be the host and venue for the Port Charles Paua Festival.

Paua cuisine with matching drinks, local wines, art and craft work, sculptures and souvenirs with an emphasis on paua will be featuring on the one day event.

50% of the proceeds from ticket sales will be going to Colville Community Health Trust, tickets will be available from the 22nd August from Tangiaro Kiwi Retreat, the Colville Medical Centre and the local i-sites.

Live music by Hamilton band The Spiritz. Light entertainment for all ages, with raffles and auctions in the planning with some of the money going to local community projects.

Plenty of free car parking space is available and if you want. You can extend your day out to a long weekend and stay in one of the beautiful luxury lodges (all fully self contained) at Tangiaro Kiwi Retreat.

Keep an eye on this space - updates coming soon. See you in Port Charles for Labour Weekend then...

The Spiritz will be the main act at Tangiaro Kiwi Retreat's Paua Festival 2011.

The Spiritz are an 8-piece reggae/fusion band who sing their own original music. They have a great rhythm section - the lead guitarist plays with an x-factor blues groove, and the rhythm guitarist has a wonderful rock feel. The keyboard player is an old school funk master that plays with soul, the bass player has a roots, rock, reggae funk style that is off the chain.

They also have a great blues brothers type brass section (trombone & saxophone) that can't be beat, and a drummer that plays with a punk, funk, reggae feel that makes your flame burn. Last but not least, their lead singer sings with a reggae, R&B flavour that will make your spine tingle. So be ready, be soooo ready for The Spiritz!
