Bharatanatyam is a classical Indian dance form which employs dramatic expressions of the face and movements of the body to narrate a story that is at once graceful, powerful and compelling.
Anuradha Ambalavanar has been dancing for nearly three decades and is the Artistic Director of the Bharatanatyam Group of Christchurch, Ltd.
‘Gems of Bharatanatyam’ is a medley of distinct Bharatanatyam pieces which depict various dieties and their stories from Hindu mythology.
Let the vibrant costumes, vigorous foot-work and rhythmic movements take you on an exotic cultural journey to a far-away land and time.
