Following on from the terrifying success of last year, Auckland Museum asks just what Halloween is all about — is it more than just lollies and dress-ups? This festival is over 2000 years old: it is the night when spirits are free to walk amongst the living and the source of many strange traditions and superstitions. Join us as we roam around the Museum’s darkened halls and find out why we dress up, why we ‘trick or treat’ and why we carve scary faces out of pumpkins. Discover more about scary Halloween bats and spiders and meet ghosts, black cats and other spooky creatures.
Don’t forget to bring your torch and dress up scary to trick those evil spirits - there's prizes for the best costumes. And just for tradition’s sake we’ve got some sweet treats too - try a taste of our gory, blood red chocolate fountain and collect your lollies at the end of the night. Discounts only apply to advance bookings.
