The Naked And Famous announce a homecoming show at the Auckland Town Hall on 4 November. Tickets go on sale Thursday 11 August.
It is an exciting return for the band who left New Zealand at the beginning of the year riding a wave of success for their hits ‘Young Blood’ and ‘Punching In A Dream’ and the critically acclaimed album Passive Me, Aggressive You.
They come home promising a show that will be honed from having performed over 130 times since their departure including some of the world’s major music festivals of 2011 and seeing their album and songs connect with audiences and glowing reviews from media all around the world.
The group performed their last show in New Zealand at the Big Day Out and by the time they return to Auckland will have played 133 shows around the world since their January departure.
Highlights have included playing the likes of Glastonbury in the UK and Fuji Rock in Japan, as well as festivals across Europe from Scandinavia to Portugal and Ireland.
The Naked And Famous have also been successfully selling out tours in the UK, USA and Germany. Before getting back to New Zealand for their one New Zealand show, they will also have played Lollapolooza, New York’s Central Park Summer Stage, the Reading Festival in the UK, and Parklife in Australia.
The band won’t be stopping home for long though, as they return directly to the UK for their last headline tour of the year.
The group’s album Passive Me, Aggressive You was released around the world in March, charting in the Top 30 in major markets including the UK and Germany. Their single ‘Young Blood’ followed its platinum certification in New Zealand by being a Gold seller in Australia, and playing on radio all over the world. It has notched up close to seven million Youtube views and currently sits at #9 in the US Alternative/Modern Rock radio chart.
