The Burkotronics vs The World (8pm):
It is commonly understood that early music was developed amongst our prehistoric ancestors to create strong feelings amongst a group. These strong feelings would make group members lose themselves in order to get into a state of combat trance.

Over time, technology introduced a twist to this idea. Man created musical instruments. It is my understanding that in modern times those strong feelings are created to combat our instruments. The Burkotronics twist this concept again by combating the audience with their instruments to create a strong trance amongst our ancestors.

Watch Chris Burke (tenor sax), Mike Story (bass) and Andy Keegan (drums) hammer sense into the world one beat at a time.

Sam Blakelock (9pm) presents an hour of soul-jazz featuring Christhurch’s slickest funkateers. Drawing influence from Miles Davis, Chris “Daddy” Dave, Robert Glasper, Donny Benet and John Scofield, you will most certainly need a bath after this concert as it will undoubtedly be very ‘dirty.’

Featuring:
Arona Vaele (L.A Mitchell, Mark Vanilau) - drums;
Seta Timo (L.A Mitchell, Pacific Underground, Mark Vanilau) - bass;
Darren Pickering (L.A Mitchell, Departure Lounge) - keys;
And some very special guests.

First 100 in the door receive free jazz. Held in CPSA.
