Napier’s annual New Year’s Eve event, which has been running since the turn of the Millennium in 1999, is set to light up Marine Parade once again as we roll into 2012.
Sponsored by Napier City Council and Hawke’s Bay Today, this year’s event will feature iconic Kiwi performer Rikki Morris and The Situation plus Celine and Samantha Toner who will keep the Sound Shell rocking as we count down to midnight and the Lion Foundation Fireworks display.
While the New Year’s Eve party will start at 8.30pm, the Sound Shell will be the focus earlier in the evening at 5.20pm for the opening ceremony of the Optimist World Championships, where more than 200 young sailors from all over the world will march behind their country’s colours and receive a formal welcome to Napier and the Championships.
