NRG Rising is coming to Thames! Cant wait to see you all there; we have been told about you, and we are really excited. See below for some more info about our band.

Also our debut album From Darkness to Light will be available to buy from the gig for just $20, or get your copy from the Warehouse, Marbecks music and all good record stores.

NRG Rising's unique, fresh, female sound and harmonies fill a niche market, women in reggae in New Zealand, and their upbeat, fun and friendly onstage persona leaves you feeling uplifted, and considering the many possibilities in life. Many, just like you are now following this band’s journey with anticipation and excitement. All evidence points to only one direction for this fresh, exciting, fun boost of energy to the New Zealand music scene and you will see this band heading off shore to share New Zealand female fronted reggae with the world. As their name NRG (New Reggae Generation) suggests, this is a new wave, a new way and a new day of NRG Rising - fresh, fun and conscious reggae.

NRG Rising kaupapa (principles):

NRG Rising's musical journey is firmly based on the following core principles;

- To support the empowerment and rangatiratanga (self determination) of all people around the world, one by one

- To support and promote the development of unique NZ and Pacific reggae through whakawhanaungatanga (extended family relationships)

- To bring some fresh, female, sassy feels, messages and music to the national and international music scene

- To connect and share with our indigenous brothers and sisters, their culture and music, and together share it with the world

- To promote and celebrate contemporary music with unique traditional cultural flavours
