The chosen finalists will perform the two arias they have nominated and the winner will receive the Aria Cup and $5000 from the David and Genevieve Becroft Foundation. Second will receive $2000 from the Auckland Opera Forum and third $500 from the Auckland Opera Forum and $500 from the N.S.P.A.C.S. with an entry equivalent to $500 to the New Zealand Opera School in January 2012. In addition, the winner or next placed finalist meeting the entry conditions to the McDonalds Aria in Sydney will receive a grant of $2000 to enable this competitor to take part in that contest in Sydney.
