From outside, the new south wing of the iconic Bath House building, in which Rotorua Museum is housed, looks all but complete, but there is still a lot of work to do.

At the end of April building contractors Watts & Hughes Construction will hand over the completed south wing, to be known as the Don Stafford Wing, to Rotorua Museum. Installation of exhibitions and taonga (treasures) will then commence to be ready in time for opening to the public on 20 August 2011.

Before installation starts, the Museum will be holding a once-only ‘sneak peak’ giving locals and visitors alike the opportunity to check out the inside of the new south wing. This public viewing afternoon will enable visitors to see inside the new wing before the grand opening in August.
