The latest incarnation from drummer/vocalist George Sabbage, features NZ music icon Murray McNabb on piano/keyboards. Tom Dennison, one of our “new generation” jazz musicians rounds off the rhythm section on bass. Steve Sherriff impresses (as always) on soprano, alto or tenor saxophones, whilst… the distinctive playing of guitarist Lance McNichol adds yet another dimension to the overall sound. Masala journey through the jazz, blues, pop and cruise genres, displaying fine individual musicianship. Collectively they also provide empathetic backdrops for vocalist George Sabbage showcasing his unique singing style. As their name implies, this group’s music is infused with deep, warm, spicy flavours. Caution: Can be addictive.
