Damien Kurth’s Dissolution challenges the apparently safe tradition of still life painting. Kurth presents virtuosic renderings of superficially familiar compositions. Allowing unexpected details to absorb the viewer and create a sense of alienation and newness, Kurth reinterprets familiar methods to address his own subversive concerns.
