Waikato Brass Quintet would like to invite you to “A Concert”. WBQ is Hamilton’s premiere brass ensemble so don’t be fooled, this is not a brass band but five of the region's finest brass musicians. In their debut year they have already “thrilled the audience, who were captivated by the sheer musicality and virtuosity of the playing.”
Featuring Bill Stoneham and Hiro Kobayashi playing Vivaldi's Concerto for Two Trumpets you will be taken on a trip from 16th century Venice through Germany, Italy and Britain. Through Venetian churches, English courts, Spanish bullfights and Broadway boogie woogie ending up in the music hall with dancing girls and trick cyclists. This is surely going to be the most stirring and diverse brass concert you have seen in a long time.
“A Concert” is a new concert series that will run once a month from April to November at St Peter’s Cathedral showcasing some of the region's finest musicians. To be successful there needs to be an audience so please support this event by coming along and help out by extending this invitation to everyone you know.
Hope to see you there!
The Team at “A Concert”
