Politics, society, the place of the individual, freedom of speech and psychological warfare are all elements of James King’s paintings.
Colour, texture, composition, construction and deconstruction are elements to be manipulated by King. His work is charged with humour and wit, naked sarcasm and emotion, but the key interest for James is the person who views the work.
“Above all I want people to begin to back their own views about art.”
