Following on from the amazing success of last year’s total sell out season of the award-winning “Wilson Dixon’s American Dream”, our favourite country singer Wilson Dixon returns to both Auckland and Wellington for the 2011 NZ International Comedy Festival with the world premiere of Up On Cripple Creek - a brand new show about his oddball family and life on the farm in Colorado, USA.
Needing a break from touring the country music circuit, Wilson heads home to Cripple Creek for a rest, but instead finds his vindictive horse Andrew has got so fat he can't leave the barn. His brother Jethro makes a snowman that topples over causing an avalanche wiping out his sister Darlene's trailer, while his Uncle Randy suffers an unfortunate accident in the sauna. And when a freak show storm cuts Cripple Creek off from the world, Wilson faces the biggest test of all - an extended period of time in close proximity with his family.
Wilson Dixon was one of the biggest shows in last year's comedy festival and Up On Cripple Creek is set to be his biggest "whoooeee" yet.
