Jay Winter is the Charles J. Stille Professor of History at Yale University and one of the world’s most distinguished World War One historians. His contribution to the recent book War Wounds: Medicine and the Trauma of Conflict is a chapter titled “Shell shock and the lives of the Lost Generation”.

He talks about the wounds of war – physical and emotional – with Dr Sandy Callister, author of The Face of War: New Zealand’s Great War Photography.
