Three misfits, one inexplicable journey toward shabazz!
It's the question on nobody's lips: what the hell is Shabazz!? From May 11th this trio of award-winning (and losing) comics will reveal all. If you're lucky.
Without spoiling the surprise too much, Shabazz! is an hour of stand-up featuring the NZ Comedy Guild's 2010 Best Newcomer, Alan McElroy (IRE), Best Newcomer nominee (loser), Andy Whiteoak (UK) and Most Improved (but sadly not enough) Comedian nominee Sean Downie (NZ). Not only will they showcase their individual talents, but will host special guests and - most importantly - coordinate the budget-shattering Shabazz! finale that'll knock your socks off. So you'd best go barefoot. Or wear tights.
If you're still reading, here's a little biography. Alan is Irish, Andy is English and Sean is a Kiwi. They've been gigging around Auckland for the last year and a bit, quite liked each other's acts and thought "Why not put on a festival show together?" So they did. Thus Shabazz! will burst into existence for four nights only at the Brooklyn Bar. They'd very much like it if you came.
