A literary festival honours the tradition of storytelling by its very existence, acknowledging the importance of literacy and the skills needed to communicate those stories. In the tradition of The Moth in the USA, where storytelling events sell out within 48 hours, and the Book Council’s “True Stories Told Live” events in Auckland, festival guests share personal stories inspired by the alphabet.
