Guest speaker Professor Bronwen Walter from Anglia Ruskin University speaks about Irish family history.
Bronwen Walter is Professor of Irish Diaspora Studies and a member of the Sociology teaching team at Anglia Ruskin University. Bronwen's current research focuses on multi-generational Irish identities in England, Newfoundland and Australasia, exploring English/Irish hybridities and examining linkages between genealogies and citizenship.
Bronwen is internationally recognised for her research on Irish migration to Britain and the wider experiences of the Irish diaspora. Her academic publications include a monograph Outsiders inside: whiteness, place and Irish women (Routledge, 2001) and articles and chapters on a wide range of aspects of Irish emigration and settlement abroad.
