The more you look, the more you see: conservation and discovery.

Painting conservator Angela Ruegger joined the Gallery team as one of the two Marylyn Mayo interns at the end of 2010. Angela will reveal the fascinating work she has been doing on a special painting from the Gallery's collection. The focus of her internship is a 15th century panel painting but she also carried out minor treatments on 15 further paintings.

Angela will talk about the paintings she has worked on as well as research required before starting any major treatment, including ultra-violet light, infrared rays, and x-ray imaging.
