Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra (APO), Auckland Libraries and Auckland Art Gallery jointly present a concert of young talent during NZ Music Month. It will premiere a new piece of music we commissioned, 'DSIR Man', composed by Callum Blackmore.

'DSIR Man', composed for French horn and piano, drew its inspiration from Warren Viscoe’s artwork of the same name, currently on display at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki.

The recital will also include performances by several other APO Young Achievers:
- Eddie Giffney is the current South Pacific and NZ Open Piano Accordion champion, and will be presenting the piece he debuted that won composer Gary Daverne the best origitanl composition award at the World Accordion Championships. 'Koriana' is both an exciting and challenging piece for the instrument.
- Nick Hall is at the University of Auckland School of Music doing post graduate study in performance, and will present the opening movement of the Neruda Trumpet Concerto.
- Bruce Tsai is an accomplished violinist, having already played solo in the Vivaldi Four Seasons: Spring at the APO’s 2011 Orchestral Summer School.

Seats are limited, so book your ticket now!

The Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra (APO) recital is a highlight of our New Zealand Music Month 2011 programme of events.
