Aminatta Forna was born in Glasgow and raised in Sierra Leone, West Africa. She was a popular guest at the 2003 festival when she visited on publication of her memoir of her dissident father, The Devil that Danced on the Water. We’re delighted to welcome her back with her second novel, The Memory of Love - a story about friendship, war and obsessive love - which has just won Best Book (Africa region) in the 2011 Commonwealth Writers’ Prize.
Chair: Vancouver International Writers’ Festival director Hal Wake.
