URGE Black

For the men, the 2nd AsiaPacific Outgames and URGE Bar present – URGE Black. Brought to you by the team behind Bearracuda Auckland and Tri-Nations, URGE Black will be New Zealand's biggest ever gay men's dance party. DJ are Seymour Butz (Sydney), DJ Mauri (Auckland) and DJ Coda (Wellington).

DJ: Seymour Butz
From Australia, Seymour Butz returns to New Zealand fresh from working with the Scissor Sisters in LA.Sydney-based, Seymour has developed his own unique style and forged his own path in the DJ/ electronic world. He has run Australia’s most eclectic queer music club, Kooky. He has played all the local homo dive bars and many major festivals such as Homebake, the Big Day Out, Good Vibrations and the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

DJ Mauri
Resident DJ at URGE Bar in Auckland, DJ Mauri has spent his life buying and selling dance music and worked for the last 25 years in record stores and loves DJing on the thin black stuff. He started spinning discs at the Laird in Melbourne 16 years ago and went from there to most clubs on the Melbourne scene before moving to Auckland and DJing at URGE Bar.

DJ Coda
For 2 years Coda played with some of NZ's best DJs at Eden parties until 1995 when he played his first international with Thomas Heckmann from Germany at Eclipse. Coda has supported some of the best DJs in the world including Derek May, Kevin Saunderson, Jeff Mills, Ritchie Hawtin, The Advent, Alex Paterson and Dave Angel. Coda has a reputation delivering unique sets, tailored to the crowd, crafting a blend of the most up-front tracks of today with crowd-pleasing classics.

Tickets are available on a preferential basis to Outgames I.D. holders and Snapper card holders. GA tickets will be available at a later date.
