“We’re f*$!ing sick of the silence.” The Chatham Islands lie 800km east of Christchurch and it’s said “they’re literally perched on the edge of the world” (scientific research shows, however, that the Earth is round).
With a dwindling population of around 600, Chatham’s men out-number women two to one and it’s the only place in New Zealand where it’s legal to hunt and BBQ weka.
Join us as we time travel 45 minutes back into the future and blow the lid off these misty isles that time—and New Zealand—forgot.
The Chathams is an unauthorised theatrical documentary by Toby Leach, Jonny Moffatt and director Eryn Wilson and comes to BATS directly from a sell out season at Auckland's Basement Theatre.
