HMNZS Resolution, the Navy's Hydrographic and Surveying Ship will the open to the public.
During the open ship, the Rotary Club of Wellington will be fundraising for the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal so bring along those gold coins!
Resolution was off the coast of Christchurch when the earthquake hit. In response, the ship headed into Lyttelton harbour and started surveying the sea bed and sea lanes to make sure ships could get in to deliver aid if required.
Come along to the open ship, talk to the crew and hear their experiences while at sea. See how they gather data of the sea bed and how it is interpreted.
