Feeling Fuddy? What would you do if your life as you know it was confined to a single day? This morning, like all mornings, Claire has woken up a blank slate.
This brutal and brilliant comedy by Pulitzer Prize winning and multi Tony Award nominated playwright, David Lindsay-Abaire traces one amnesiac woman's attempt to piece together her fractured life guided only by clues from a scrapbook, a limping man, a foul-mouthed puppet, her stoner son, upbeat husband, and stroke-victim mother.
The audience views the ensuing mayhem through the kaleidoscope of Claire's world. The play culminates in a cacophony of revelations, proving that everything is not what it appears to be.
Directed by Alison Walls, Words on Trees brings you a play that is sweet, dark, surprising, chaotic and has been a hit since it first opened at the Manhattan Theatre Club in 1999.
“…heady fun… fresh, zingy dialogue, which revels in warping the language of self-help books… Like the resourceful chef who turns leftovers into haute cuisine, Mr. Lindsay-Abarire blends clichéd ingredients into something savory and distinctive… [a] dark, sweet and thoroughly engaging comedy.” – The New York Times
“A deftly zany absurdist comedy… hilarious.” – The Evening Times
Starring: Alex Grieg, Carl Hayes, Emma Kinane, Walter McGinnis, Nathan Mudge, Phoebe Smith and Georgiana Taylor.
