12 years in the game and what a 12 years it has been! Bass Frontiers has constantly and consistently delivered the goods time and time again, stepping up and pushing the Wellington drum and bass scene forward with countless quality events and artists. So many memories and highlights, in fact way to many to really mention these days (and the best ones we probably can't even remember or talk about). We have witnessed the game change but have always stayed true to our original ethos of representing the best most upfront drum and bass in the world.
Calibre & MC DRS (Signature - UK):
Dominick Martin a.k.a. Calibre has been responsible for some of the most beautiful tracks in drum & bass to date and continues to drop jaws worldwide with his sublime and sultry productions. From his first full length LP on Creative Source to his latest album "Even If" on his own label Signature, Calibre’s sound has progressed taking in elements of jazz, funk, dub and techno but lost none of its soul. Without doubt, his influence in drum & bass has been profound, yet Calibre continues to evolve as an artist, exploring new techniques and styles in his music. Having played all over the world from Belfast to Berlin, Calibre certainly knows how to captivate a crowd. His sets often feature the deeper side of drum & bass yet never disappoint the dancefloor, featuring his own latest tracks as well as other forthcoming exclusives.
With a reputation stretching back over 15 years, DRS is a truly versatile MC, host and lyricist. Cutting his teeth and touring worldwide with the legendary Good Looking label, his soulful style on the mic and honest lyrics are unmatched. In recent years, he’s been an integral part of the Soul:r camp, recording tracks with Mist:ical, Lynx & Kemo and Calibre as well appearing as resident MC for Soul:ution and A Bunch of Cuts nights. DRS is also part of hip-hop crew Broke’n’English, alongside fellow MC Strategy and DJ Konny Kon, and a recording artist in his own right. Look out for his debut album soon plus upcoming releases alongside Calibre, Mist:i:cal, Craggz & Parallel Forces and Alley Cat.

The Upbeats live ft Jess Chambers & MC Lowqui (Non Vogue - NZ):
The Upbeats Live is The Upbeats at their most gleeful; their most mercurial. It's their rockstar status records and MP3s playfully re-imagined as stadium electronica through a filter composed of Midi-pads, keyboards, live guitars, kaleidoscopic lightshows and beyond. The Upbeats Live is a new frontier, a trailblazing approach to live d&b; everything you want from a party – and more. Aptly assisted by respected producer/DJ TREi on guitar, renowned folk singer Jess Chambers on vocals and the mighty MC Lowqui (UK), this is a big configuration; with big vibes. Expect mosh-pits, expect stage-diving, but most importantly; expect good music. The future has arrived, and it's wearing full-length silver body suits. The Upbeats Live, where do you want to tell your grandchildren you were partying in 2011?
