Maxine has always worked with natural textiles and textures. Her natural progression was to delve deeper into an organic by hand process. In this collection Maxine uses fired ceramic left in its most natural state to compose sculptural oversized jewellery which has been influenced by the exotic patterns of the Persian carpet which was used and made by nomadic people to cover the earthen floor of their tents over many centuries.
