Auckland Jazz & Blues Club Presents Grant Chilcott

Grant P. Chilcott is another way of saying “multi-talented.” Singer, bandleader, impressionist, recording artist, and dedicated entertainer, on television, radio, and CD. For over 25 years, Grant Chilcott’s career has spanned an enviable variety of music. He makes an impact with swinging vocals Noel Coward repertoire, and then raise the temperature with the contrasting vibrancy of Latin American rhythms.

Chilcott has made thousands of appearances in cabaret, corporate, social, and gala events, styling his bands to the repertoire being presented - ‘The Wentworth-Brewster Orchestra’ – ‘The ‘Mambo Kings’ – ‘The Neo-Swing Ensemble’- The TransAtlantic Ensemble’

Then, in concert mode, he has stepped in front to solo position with the Auckland Philharmonia;
won a Mobil radio award for Best musical programme of the year; and recorded CDs with a theme, such as the latest - “Songs From the Movies” with the NZSO strings and brass. And to date, Chilcott is the only New Zealand artist to appear on the New York recording label MMO.

Beyond New Zealand, the Chilcott passport shows entries for an impressive series of performances in international seasons: Japan (with Chaka Chan), Vanuatu, Korea (at the Seoul Olympics), Australia, Fiji and Cuba (home of salsa and rhumba).

Chilcott is accompanied by long time associates Craig Williams, Glyn Frewin, Walter Bianco and Miguel Fuentes on drums
