Convention Centre Open Day

The Palmerston North Convention Centre is opening its doors. You’re invited to join us for a behind the scenes look at the Centre’s fantastic events spaces and services. Be our guest and enjoy food sampling, cooking demonstrations and coffee making lessons.

Abbie Davie, the Convention Centre’s Marketing Manger, said “as visitors walk through this fantastic facility we hope they will get a taste of what is possible here”.

The Palmerston North Convention Centre opened in 1980 and was New Zealand's first purpose built convention facility. Over the past three decades the Convention Centre has hosted an impressive roster of conferences, meetings, tradeshows, exhibitions, functions and events and has built an enviable reputation for professionalism and service excellence.

“From an economic standpoint the Convention Centre is a great thing for Palmerston North,” Davie said. “Events held at the Centre bring visitors to the city. They stay in our hotels, dine at our restaurants, and visit attractions in the wider Manawatu region.”

The Convention Centre is located at 354 Main Street, adjacent to the Council Chambers. It features a versatile range of function spaces for six to over 600 guests, an on-site executive chef and sophisticated audiovisual, communications and information technology.
