Helen Schamroth's fascinating textile artworks will be showcased in this exhibition of her new work.

She sews, folds, arranges, layers, burns, rips, and collages delicate textiles with printed photographic images, as well as working with buttons, wire and transparent moulded polyester sheeting, bringing together seemingly disparate elements to make thought-provoking images.

Pre-war Polish hats and shoes, references to her milliner grandmother and shoemaker grandfather who died in the Holocaust, were the inspiration for this new exhibition. Helen's journey in tracing the creative lives of her grandparents is evident in all of these current works. Please contact Northart for a press release with more details.

There will be a floor talk for this show on Sunday 27th March at 2pm. All welcome - refreshments will be served.

On over the same period in Northart's Gallery 2 will be Earthworks by Elsabé Pretorius; in Gallery 3, a series of prints by veteran North Shore printmaker Julienne Francis entitled In the Beginning.
