MarchFest is Nelson’s unique craft beer and music festival. Set in the beautiful, traffic-free environment of Founders Park. MarchFest is completely weatherproof – all activity areas have the potential to be sheltered from sun, wind or rain. Festival facilities are geared to an attendance of at least 2,000 festival-goers.
The Nelson region is not only New Zealand’s sole hop growing area; it also has more craft breweries per head of the population than anywhere else in the country. MarchFest commissions brand new beers from local craft breweries – they all make their debut at MarchFest.
But MarchFest is not just about beer: You can also find a wide range of eclectic music, fine wines, kids' and family activities and regional cuisine. You can even ride a bike to power the music stage! Already booked for 2011 are Wilson Dixon, The Eastern, Chimuka and Australia’s The Barons of Tang – fresh from WOMAD.
Blackenbrook is proud to be on board as this year’s principle wine sponsor.
MarchFest is geared towards people of discerning taste – people who make informed choices about their food, drink, musical taste and want to attend a family-friendly event, which is safe, fun and a bit different to the run-of-the-mill festival.
