A rousing night of improvisational comedy with the cast of iconic Christchurch show Scared Scriptless.
Court Jester Jeff Clark was working in The Court Theatre when the earthquake struck, and he and his co-workers evacuated the buildings uninjured. Realising the scale of the damage, Clark took his family to relatives in Nelson.
Burning with a desire to help his beloved city, Clark contacted former member of The Court Jesters Dan Allan, who moved to Nelson in 2010 to form theatre troupe Body In Space (The Complete Works of William Shakespeare- Abridged). Allan quickly joined the project and put Clark in contact with the Theatre Royal who came to the party with a venue.
Several Court Jesters will be travelling to Nelson to perform in Comedy for Christchurch. “At a time like this everyone wants to whatever they can to help. If we can provide some comic relief and contribute to the fundraising efforts, then we’ll feel like we’re contributing something useful.”
The audience can expect a night of fresh and unpredictable comedy in the same vein as hit TV show 'Whose Line is it Anyway,' happy in the knowledge that their ticket fee will directly help those effected in Christchurch.
