Tremains Corporate Triathlon

In March of each year Tremain Real Estate runs the annual Tremains Corporate Triathlon.

The Tremains Corporate Triathlon has been running since 1993 (well that's as far back as we can remember) and it is still the largest corporate team event in Hawke's Bay.

This event is designed for fun and a chance for you to challenge other businesses or friends to a triathlon head to head! Over the years the event has grown into a huge event and as you can imagine lots of planning months before the event takes place. This event is recommended for anyone aged 13 years and over.

Co-organised by Tremain Real Estate, Hawke's Bay Multisports Club and Sport Hawke’s Bay, the 2011 event will again be held at The Esplanade Domain in Westshore on Sunday, 13 March 2011.

Teams compete over a course of a 600-metre swim or 1700-metre kayak, 5km run or walk and 20km bike ride.

The 2011 event again will feature an exciting swim / kayak venue that will guarantee competitors the opportunity to get paddling. Pandora Pond is the location for the swim / kayak. The run / walk will follow to the Westshore Domain via the estuary walkway.

The main transition, registration point and tent areas will remain at the Domain on The Esplande at Westshore. Buses are provided to get spectators, swimmers and runners to Pandora Pond and will return spectators and swimmers back (all for free!)

Enter on Line is available to ensure your experience is fun and stress free. This will be open from February 2011.

You have the option of downloading entry forms and posting them in with a cheque (Make sure you put an e-mail address so we can e-mail you all the maps and confirmation of your entry) but an even better idea is to enter events online through the Tremains Triathlon website. That way you get immediate confirmation that you are entered and you know you are in the correct race or category and also you don't have to worry about stamps and envelopes all all that stuff?

A little bit more about the race:
the race venue is held at Westshore Domain which is on the Esplanade at Westshore. But here is where it gets exciting. We bus your swimmer and runner over to Pandora Pond on a double decker bus kindly sponsored by the thirsty whale. Here your swimmer and kayaker get a safe, flat 600m swim or 1.7km kayak. Once they do this they come out of the water and tag your runner who will run through the wonderful Pandora Pond estuary and over to Westshore to complete their 5km run or walk. Don't worry swimmers and kayakers the Thirsty Whale double decker bus will return you to your team mates too.

Your runner/walker will enter into the great transition area set up with the team cyclists waiting. The cyclist heads out to bay view and completes an out and back course of 20km finishing with all the cheering of their team members and supporters who will be waiting supping on some nice cold drinks and eating lunch. Of course they will have saved you some - yeh right!
