Presented by Chamber Music New Zealand.
On both of their previous visits, in 2006 and 2008, the trio were greeted with great praise and applause from both critics and audiences alike, for their engaging energy, finesse and intensity.
Founded in 1997 by brothers Christoph (piano), Florian (cello) and Georg (violin), the Eggner Trio have quickly captured the musical world. Since their inception they have won major international awards including first prizes at the International Brahms Competition in 1999 and the Melbourne International Chamber Competition in 2003. In 2010, they debuted at London's Wigmore Hall, immediately garnering several repeat invitations.
Hailed on their last visit to New Zealand in 2008 for their outstanding performances, the Eggners have a "rare ability to reconcile the composer's melodic sweep with the minutest of detail" (William Dart, The New Zealand Herald).
Programme two:
Beethoven - Piano Trio in B flat Opus 11 ‘Gassenhauer’
Ian Munro - Tales of Old Russia, commissioned by Sunday Classics Inc.
Dvořák - Piano Trio No 3 in F minor Opus 65
Performed in Hamilton, Napier, Wellington, Nelson, & Christchurch.
Please note: A service fee will apply to prices listed.
