Where: Uxbridge Creative Centre, 35 Uxbridge Rd, Howick Show map
Restrictions: All Ages
Ticket Information:
- Admission: Free
Website:
The Malcolm Smith Gallery at Uxbridge Creative Centre will be occupied by small sculptures of all mediums – bronze, glass, and wood – created by prestigious New Zealand sculptors including Jeff Thompson, John Edgar and Jim Wheeler.
Only limited by the size of their sculpture, artists were given free-reign as to what to submit to the small-sculpture exhibition. Many have departed from the plinth and have instead created free-standing or suspended sculptures to confront the limitations of sculpture and depart from its reputation of bulk and solidity.
To accompany the exhibition there will be a series of artist demonstrations and discussions in the Malcolm Smith Gallery at specific times: please visit our website www.uxbridge.org.nz for further details.
