Papatoetoe seamer Gareth Shaw comes back into the Auckland Aces Squad to take on the Wellington Firebirds at Colin Maiden Park this coming Monday.

Shaw is the only change to the squad who broke the Aces losing streak in the Plunket Sheild with a hard fought outright win over the Northern Knights. He is replacing Daryl Tuffey who is unavailable as he flies over to India to join up with the Blackcaps squad as injury cover. Andre Adams is still unavailable with an injury.

Ace’s coach Paul Strang was confident the Aces could carry on from the strong result against Northern and finish the season on a high.

“I was really pleased with the fight and courage that the boys showed in a game last week that ebbed and flowed. We will be looking to build on this result off the back of a fantastic effort from our bowling core of Chris Martin and Michael Bates but wont be taking Wellington lightly because they will be hurting from their outright loss “
