Pops on Pipes - Wurlitzer Pipe Organ Show

This is our first public show for 2011, and it is a thrill to welcome back British keyboard artist Len Rawle. He is a much respected artist in his homeland and is one of those unique people who have quite a sizable Wurlitzer pipe organ installed in their home!! Back in 2008, Len gave us a fun afternoon of music and entertainment and we are very much looking forward to his return to the Hollywood Cinema. Guest artist with Len will be local accordionist Yogi Martin, and together they will present a selection of numbers with Auckland's histroric Wurlitzer pipe organ and piano accordion – another “first” for the Hollywood Cinema.

Enjoy a true "Pops" program of music from the Light Classics, the 30s and 40s, the Shows and right on up to today.

See "close up" on the giant screen, the organist making music on this unique pipe organ complete with its own percussion section of drums, cymbals, piano, harp, xylophone etc. All real "live" percussion instruments - truly a one-man unit orchestra.

Tickets on sale at the door on the day from 1.15pm - ages 10-18 free with a paying adult.
