Working with Sam Rountree-Williams for the second time, Victor & Hester present new work by Sam alongside the launch of Victor & Hester Journal Issue 14. Available free for the duration of the show, Journal 14 consists of a written response to Auckland-based Rountree Williams’ work by Glasgow-based John Calcutt.
Initiated in early 2010 by Amelia Bywater, Kirstin Carlin, Emma Fitts and Camillo Paravicini, Victor & Hester have been hosting one-night exhibitions coinciding with a launch of their journal on a monthly basis. Originating in a residential space in Woodlands Drive, Glasgow, Victor & Hester now operate in a more transient way with a focus on pushing the boundaries of the journal format.
Sam Rountree Williams graduated from Elam School of Fine Arts in 2008. Sam has recently returned from Germany where he was a guest at Kunstakademie Dusseldorf in the class of Herbert Brandl.
John Calcutt is the acting head of the MFA programme at Glasgow School of Art. He lives and works in Glasgow.
