Forced Comedy

In an attempt to mix Star Wars, live comedy, laughs, a cinema, fan-videos (not videos of cooling-devices, that'd be silly) and more laughs, Uncut Comedy presents Forced Comedy!

It's a show that'll fuse some (more than likely very) tenuously Lucas-themed live stand-up with what we deem to be the funniest Star Wars fan videos off the net, all in glorious standard definition on the big screen! It'll be a fun night for all the family... except the kids, the grandparents, the hard-line religious aunties, the bad uncles, the... OK to be honest, it'll be a fun night if you fit somewhere in the 16-87 age bracket and like to laugh. An expansive (or really any) knowledge of Star Wars isn't necessary... Half the acts have seen the films less than once - yet as I write they're being poked with lightsabers to write jokes especially for this event, as ill-informed as they may be.

Not really selling this, am I? Well what about the price?! This should help. Like all previous Uncut Comedy shows, it's still just $10 including a free beer, wine or soft drink. There's also plenty of bar specials, so essentially if you get there early enough, you will find us funny. (See our Facebook page for details)

The show is at the Academy Cinema, located under the Auckland Central Library building on Lorne Street. Don't be put off by the huge construction site outside. Pretend it's a scaled-down Death Star that's going to sit atop the Sky Tower or something. Use your imagination.
