Staff, students and guests of the School of Music discuss topical issues in music history and criticism, as well as their latest research. Every other Wednesday, at 5.30pm, in the Music Theatre; followed by a chance to talk with event attendees at an informal reception held in the Music Theatre foyer.
Aidan Lang has worked as an opera director for the past 30 years. He has held the position of Director of Productions at Glyndebourne Touring Opera, Artistic Director of Opera Zuid in the Netherlands and the Buxton Festival, and he is currently General Director of the NBR New Zealand Opera.

Mr Lang will discuss the elaborate process of staging an opera, drawing on his experiences from around the world, including the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul, a country house in Oxfordshire and the Amazon rainforest.
